Eldon B. Silveus of 13860 Elm Road, Bourbon, Indiana passed away on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 10:05 p.m. at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Indiana at the age of 86. He was born on July 2, 1924 in Milford, Indiana to Amos Silveus and Mary Grace (Banks) Silveus Wallace. On June 25, 1947 he was married to Mary E. Clark, who survives. Eldon was a 1943 graduate of Bourbon High School, Bourbon, Indiana. He then served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater and the Battle of the Bulge, and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was a self employed building contractor, and owner of Silveus Construction, Bourbon, Indiana. He was a lifetime area resident of Bourbon, and he also wintered in Florida for many years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Mary E. Silveus (Bourbon, Indiana); three daughters: Pamela J. Silveus (New Paris, Indiana); Vickie L. (husband George) Cook (Plymouth, Indiana); M. Michaeleen (husband Robert) Crow (Culver, Indiana); two sons: Dr. Patrick C. (wife Jana) Silveus (Warsaw, Indiana); Robert J. (wife Jackie) Silveus (Plymouth, Indiana); twelve Grandchildren, and seventeen Great- Grandchildren.
Eldon was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Michael Eldon Silveus in 1971, two brothers: Jay and Hugh Silveus, and four sisters: Faye Shuta, Annabelle Bednarski, Mary Alice Long, Ramona Silveus. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 28, 2010 from 5-8:00 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana. A graveside service with military rites will be conducted on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bourbon, Indiana officiated by Pastor Matt Elliott of Grace Baptist Church of Plymouth, Indiana.
Memorial donations can be made in Eldon''s name to the Marshall County Humane Society, 11165 13th Road, Plymouth, Indiana 46563-9014; or to the charity of one''s choice.
