Frank Pawlak, 88, of 80 Bertrand road, died at 1:30 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend. he had been ill a week. Mr. Pawlak, a retired grocer, was born Oct. 1, 1874 in Poland. He cam here from that country in 1899. Survivors include three daughters. Mrs. John Grabarz and Mrs. John Lochmandy, both of South Bend and Mrs. Cecelia Brothers, Niles; three sons, Alosius, Niles, Walter, Sheridan, Ind., and William, South Bend; a sister, Mrs. Anna Szymarek, also of South Bend; and 27 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Cletus M. Rose, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends are being received at the Kiger Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
