A lifelong South Bender, Joe played football for the University of Notre Dame, lettering in 1939, 1940, and 1941. Joe earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Notre Dame and taught Mathematics at John Adams High School in South Bend. He is survived by his wife Toni and daughters Jeannine and Jennifer.
