SOUTH BEND - Elizabeth Pompe of Shrub Oak, NY, (formerly of South Bend, IN) passed away peacefully at the age of 92. She was born in Sopron, Hungary, the daughter of General Josef and Maria Kisfaludy. Elizabeth retired in 1992 from Bloomingdale's flagship store in Manhattan after 30 years of loyal service. She was a talented seamstress who supplemented her income by creating dresses for all occasions. She loved horticulture, Broadway shows, and spending time with friends and family. She is survived by her son Gabriel and his wife Julia Vesei, her sister, Marika Szaz, and her granddaughter, Serena. She was predeceased by her husband Ivan in 2012. Per her wishes, funeral services will not be scheduled after her private cremation.
