Jacqueline P. "Jackie" Ferro, 85, of South Bend, IN, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, IN, with her loving family by her side. She was born on January 3, 1936 to the late Frank and Henrietta (Stachowiak) Nafradi in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong area resident. Along with her parents; she was also preceded in death by her husband, Bernard J. Ferro. Jackie graduated in 1953 from South Bend Catholic High School in South Bend. She worked at the Hammes Notre Dame Bookstore for 23 years, before retiring in 2019. Jackie was also the school librarian at Holy Family Catholic School from 1976-1982. On January 14, 1961, as Jacqueline P. Nafradi, she married Bernard J. Ferro at St. Hedwig Catholic Church in South Bend, IN. Bernard passed away on June 3, 2018. Jackie is survived by her two daughters, Suzanne (Terrence) Kazmierczak of Granger, IN; Angela Ferro of South Bend, IN; two sons, Bernard II (Lori) Ferro of South Bend, IN; Timothy Ferro of South Bend, IN; and three granddaughters, Stephanie (Matt) Sczepankiewicz; Michelle (Casey) Goodman; and Catherine Kazmierczak. Jackie was a member of St. Hedwig Parish, where she belonged to the rosary society, and was a lector & eucharistic minister. She absolutely loved books and word finds; but most of all, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. A rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2021, followed by visitation from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2822 Corpus Christi Drive, South Bend, IN.
