On Sep. 10, 1912, Rev. R. Marciniak, C. S. C., Pastor of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in South Bend, Indiana, married Cora Kotecki and Joe Putz. The applications they filed with the county include the following information: Cora, a resident of South Bend, was born Aug. 7, 1893 in South Bend to Wladyslaw & Helen (Markiewicz) Kotecki. Joe, a laborer in South Bend, was born June 22, 1891 in South Bend to John & Maryanna (Grabarz) Putz. It was the first marriage for both of them. (images of marriage records, familysearch.org)

The 1920 census of South Bend, includes the household of Joseph Putz, a shipping clerk at a shirt factory, his wife, Flora (sic: Cora), and daughter Gertrude, 6, all born in Indiana.

South Bend News-Times, Wed., Oct. 20, 1920, p. 4:
"Cora Putz, 27 years old, died at her home, 2105 Roger st., Monday night, She was born Aug. 18 (sic), 1893, and is survived by her husband, Joseph Putz; one daughter; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Kotecki; one brother, Max; and one sister, Belhina (sic) Kubika. The funeral willl be held Thursday morning at St. Stanislaus church, the Rev. Marcinzak (sic) officiating. Burial will be made at Cedar Grove cemetery."

Her date and place of death also are given in her Indiana death certificate for which the informant was her husband, Joseph Putz. His understanding was that she had been born August 8 (sic?), 1893 in Indiana to Wladyslaw & Helena (Markiewicz) Kotecki.
