Granger - Arthola J. Chodzinski-Loy, 92, formerly of South Bend passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018 in her home. Arthola was born June 27, 1925 in South Bend to the late George Wallace Sr. and Catherine Granger. In 1942, Arthola married Alexander Chodzinski, he preceded her in death in 1969 and in 1972 she married Omer Loy, whom preceded her in death in 1997. Also, Arthola was also preceded in death by her brothers, George Wallace, Jr. and Gerald Wallace; and sisters, Katherine Tague, Betty Hershberger, and Patricia Miller. Survivors of Arthola include her children, Lawrence (Carol) Chodzinski of Granger, Wayne (Patricia) Chodzinski of Mishawaka, and Dennis (Darlene) Chodzinski of New Braunsfels, TX.; Grandchildren, Wayne Chodzinski, Jr. of Mishawaka, IN, Brooke Chodzinski of Beaumont, TX, Tammy (Kevin) Harty of Osceola, IN, Jim Chodzinski of Mesa, AZ and Nick Chodzinski of New Braunsfels, TX; great granddaughters, Ilyana and Willow of San Antonio, TX; and brothers, Richard Wallace and Robert (Lanita) Wallace. Arthola was a member of the South Bend Moose Auxillary 1057. She was an avid Bingo player, enjoyed playing cards, and going to the casino. Most of all, she took care of her family which was her life. Visitation for Arthola will be held 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, Thursday, May 10, 2018 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. where a Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 6100 W. 96th Street Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN, 46278. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
